OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Training

Familiarizes the student with basic concepts of construction hazard identification, and mitigation techniques. Topics consist of Basic Construction Safety Practices. This OSHA course is required for all crew members working on-site in the communications industry.

First Aid, CPR, AED, & Blood Borne Pathogens

Familiarizes the student with concepts of the Red Cross Basic First Aid, CPR, AED, and Blood Borne Pathogens courses. 

Course Length: 1/2 Day  Cost: $125.00.00 per Student.  Discount may be available for multiple students.

RF Safety & Awareness

OSHA required training regarding the different types, levels and limits of RF exposure encountered in the communication industry. RF monitoring devices and appropriate PPE are discussed.

Course Length: 1 Day  Cost: $500.00 per Student.  Discount may be available for multiple students.

Authorized / Competent Rigging & Hoisting

Familiarizes the student with the calculations used for both rigging & hoisting techniques required in the communication industry, including load line, tag line and capstan operations; ANSI 10.48 requires the student to have three years of documented experience in the communications industry to receive the competent level certification.

Mobile Elevated Work Platform

Familiarizes the student with the the various types of lift equipment. Both equipment pre-start, and worksite inspection requirement are discussed.

COMTRAIN Authorized Climber & Rescuer

The Authorized Climber/Rescuer course is a 2-day program that will teach new and experienced climbers how to climb safely, descend with various descent tools and perform rescues. The class is designed to meet OSHA regulations and addresses applicable ANSI standards and equipment needed to meet those standards. Some specific areas addressed include site hazard assessment, safety meetings and JHAs, fall protection, PFAS, PPE and emergency contingency planning and rescue techniques. This Comtrain course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as per ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the NATE CTS and ASSE/ANSI Z359.2. This course meets the minimum requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ASSE/ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code.

COMTRAIN Competent Climber & Rescuer

The Competent Climber/Rescuer course is a 3 day course designed for experienced climbers and required for In-House Instructor candidates. A climber must have 90 actual climbing days of experience to qualify for the Competent level training. If a climber has been certified at the Authorized level in the last 6 months, he/she can upgrade to the Competent level with a 1 day add on. Many contractors and tower owners are requiring crews to have at least one Certified Competent Climber/Rescuer on the job, some require more.

This course teaches more advanced rescue techniques, self-rescue and rope access skills, rescue planning and response as well as victim evaluation and advanced first aid during rescue/suspension. The course prerequisites are passing and earning the Authorized Climber/Rescuer (2 Day Class) Certification portion of our training in the last 6 months and having at least 90 days of documented tower climbing experience. This Comtrain course meets the Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, the NATE CTS and ASSE/ANSI Z359.2. This course meets the minimum requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program, found in the ASSE/ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code.

COMTRAIN Tower Safety Instructor

(Train the Trainer)

The Authorized Level TS&R In-House Instructor candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of actual tower climbing experience and be recognized as a Competent Person [OSHA - 29 CFR 1926.32(f)] by their employer. He/she can deliver the Comtrain Authorized Climber/Rescuer Certification Training to their employees.

The Competent Level TS&R In-House Instructor must have at least 5 years of tower climbing work experience or 2 years experience delivering tower safety training and be recognized as a Competent Person [OSHA - 29 CFR 1926.32(f)] by their employer. He/she can deliver the Comtrain Authorized and Competent Climber/Rescuer Certification Training to their employees.
