Learn to Climb. Learn to Build.

The ComStar Telecommunications Training Program provides an alternative educational pathway to anyone seeking a career change, or to transitioning veterans seeking rapid placement in the highly competitive civilian job market without the time commitment of a 2-year or 4-year degree. ComStar LLC has partnered with Cumberland University to provide exceptional fall protection training and professional development utilizing classroom and hands on training practices. Cumberland University is located in Lebanon, TN, approximately 25 miles from downtown Nashville. Our intense, 6-week course is designed to ensure that graduates are fully trained and prepared for their new career in the telecommunications industry.

ComStar Telecommunications Training, through Cumberland University, is a unique program designed specifically to educate, train, and develop technicians so that they are completely familiar and proficient in all aspects of tower climbing, including fall protection, safety and the technological skillsets required of a contemporary tower technician working in a 3G/4G industry. ComStar Training meets ANSI, ASSE, and OSHA standards for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training. In addition, the coursework also meets or exceeds the standards set forth by the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE).

Not just any tower climbing certification.

The ComStar Telecommunications Tower Technician I Certificate, awarded by Cumberland University and approved for veterans training, is not solely a dedicated tower climbing course. This certificate provides a comprehensive skillset from breaking ground for foundations to erecting, cabling, outfitting, testing and calibrating a fully functional cell tower, distributed antenna system, or microcell installation. The courses of this program will be taught by Cumberland University faculty and course content experts from the telecommunications and tower climbing industry.

Our program covers many aspects of telecom construction. Specific carrier training includes ND502 compliance, Sprint 2.5, Alcatel-Lucent 2.5, Nokia 2.5, and Samsung 2.5 certifications. We also are able to tailor training to your needs, whether it’s safety, quality or carrier compliant installation.
